The Antichrist:
The term "antichrist" occurs four times in the Bible, all in the letters of John:
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (1jo 2:18) see
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. (1jo 2:22-23) see
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (1jo 4:1-3) see
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (2jo 1:7) see
The Bible gives clear guidance regarding who the antichrists are. They are those who deny that Jesus is the Christ, who deny the Father and the Son, who do not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. The antichrists are also equated with false prophets, and they were already in the world at the time of the writing of the epistles of John.
Baha'u'llah confirms that Jesus is Christ, that He is the Divine Son of God, that He did, indeed, come in the flesh, and that He was sent by the Father for the salvation of the whole world:
Know thou that when the Son of Man yielded up His breath to God, the whole creation wept with a great weeping. By sacrificing Himself, however, a fresh capacity was infused into all created things. Its evidences, as witnessed in all the peoples of the earth, are now manifest before thee. The deepest wisdom which the sages have uttered, the profoundest learning which any mind hath unfolded, the arts which the ablest hands have produced, the influence exerted by the most potent of rulers, are but manifestations of the quickening power released by His transcendent, His all-pervasive, and resplendent Spirit.
We testify that when He came into the world, He shed the splendor of His glory upon all created things. Through Him the leper recovered from the leprosy of perversity and ignorance. Through Him, the unchaste and wayward were healed. Through His power, born of Almighty God, the eyes of the blind were opened, and the soul of the sinner sanctified.
..He it is Who purified the world. Blessed is the man who, with a face beaming with light, hath turned towards Him. (gwb XXXVI) see
