Baha'u'llah has shown us how we might understand the symbolic verses in the Bible, if we take the time and care to study and ponder them in light of His Words. He has not explained every single verse of the Bible-the Bible does not tell us that the Spirit of Truth will explain everything; it says that He will guide us. Understanding does not come to us without effort on our part. Referring to The Book of Certitude, Baha'u'llah states:
