'Abdu'l-Baha's explanation may pertain both to the human body of the individual who is confronted with a decision of faith and to the human body of the Manifestation (Baha'u'llah). This is possible because people's own physical desires are often the reason they reject the religious teachings of God, while the human nature of Baha'u'llah prevents some from recognizing His divinity. The crucifixion, for example, prevented many people from perceiving Jesus' divinity. They believed that if He were the Messiah it would not be possible to kill Him (Matt. 27:40-2). The symbolism of 'clouds' refers to those things which, like the crucifixion in the case of Christianity, were a 'stumbling block' over which the majority of the Jews fell, thereby failing to accept Christ (1 Cor. 1:23).
