In this book our purpose will not be to explore these other religious systems and Baha'u'llah's relationship to them; instead, we will focus solely on the biblical tradition. The relationship of the Baha'i Faith to the Bible is, alone, more than can be adequately addressed in any single book. This is especially true since Baha'u'llah has not attempted to evade any of the Messianic expectations of Christians by invalidating the legitimacy of the prophecies of the Bible. If Baha'u'llah had chosen to disregard large portions of the Bible - for instance, rejecting the prophecies of Daniel, the Gospel versions of Jesus' Olivet Discourse and the Book of Revelation - His claims would not appear so great. (16:2)

Such an approach cannot be found in Baha'u'llah's writings. Instead, He testified to the truth of the Bible, wrote at length in defence of its genuineness, and encouraged both those who choose to follow Him and those who do not to read it. (16:3)
