The following can be found in Jewish legend:-- When Abraham was born, a star appeared in the east so bright that all the stars around it paled in the sky. The royal stargazers came running to King Nimrod and said: 'Your Majesty, a son has been born to Terah who will destroy our gods and convert all the inhabitants of the earth to his beliefs. There is but one thing to do, and that is to destroy him before he grows up.' (Joseph Gaer, The Lore of the Old Testament 85)
