Daniel's Prophecies Concerning the First Advent-- The Christian scholars who believed that Daniel's prophecies foretold Jesus' appearance often based their calculations on a detailed knowledge of Jewish calendars. We will not explore these details but, rather, will examine the simplified explanation which 'Abdu'l-Baha Himself provides and which has many similarities to Christian views pre-dating the Baha'i Faith. We will begin by first reviewing the main verses as they appear in Daniel's vision: (69:1) Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.
