God cannot be conceived, perceived or objectively known. He is beyond our rational understanding. According to Baha'u'llah's teachings, His essence will always be hidden from man. He is the Hidden One for there is no direct way leading to the knowledge of Him: "The way is barred and all seeking rejected." But He is also the "Manifest One", for He reveals Himself to men through His manifestations, as religious history testifies.
