"It should be made unmistakably clear that such an attitude implies neither the slightest indifference to the cause and interests of their own country, nor involves any insubordination on their part to the authority or recognized and established governments... It indicates the desire cherished by every true and loyal follower of Baha'u'llah to serve, in an unselfish, unostentatious and patriotic fashion, the highest interests of the country to which he belongs, and in a way that would entail no departure from the high standards of integrity and truthfulness associated with the teachings of the Faith." (Shoghi Effendi) (119:1)

The principle of noninvolvement in politics clearly has bearing on the Baha'i approach to established governments. Baha'is believe that existing forms of governments will fade away of their own accord in the course of time, dying out like the dinosaur because they have outlived their time. However, whilst the present political system exists Baha'is must practise a positive neutrality by demonstrating total loyalty to all established governments. (119:3)

"In every country or government where any of this community reside, they must behave toward that government with faithfulness, trustfulness and truthfulness." (Baha'u'llah) (119:4)
