All levels of matter are forever changing and developing in relation to themselves and to the environment. Man himself has developed over an immense period of time from the most primitive beginnings and in the process of evolution has passed through many different forms. However, he has always had the potential to be ultimately what he has become, just as the acorn, though humble in size and appearance, has the potential of becoming a mighty oak tree. From this perspective evolution not only results from the ancestry and environment but involves the fulfillment of inherent potential.
