Live in such harmony that others may take your lives for an example.." (82:5) Be to each other as heavenly lovers and divine beloved ones dwelling in a paradise of love.." ('Abdul-Baha) (82:6) ..When a couple feel that they need help to keep their marriage going they are encouraged to consult with their Local Spiritual Assembly.. If reconciliation at that time seems impossible there is then a period of separation during which time husband and wife should not live together.. If after a year.. the couple are still unreconciled then they will be allowed to divorce, as it is not the intent to force people to live together in unhappiness, provided only that such a divorce is in accordance with local law....
