In the same way, divine perfections, that is, the attributes of God, are the qualities that characterize a Manifestation of God. When someone claims to be a Prophet, or Manifestation of God, we must therefore ask: Is the claimant characterized by the divine perfections we attribute to God? (100:1) This simple principle is true of all things, that is, all things are correctly recognized by their qualities (pup 421-2). This is the principle Baha'u'llah is applying when He states that a Manifestation id known by His teachings (kiq 205-6)
