"In this love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4:10) (106:5) Similarly, Baha'u'llah writes: (106:6) "Fix your gaze upon Him Who is the Temple of God amongst men. He, in truth, hath offered up His life as a ransom for the redemption of the world. He, verily, is the All-Bountiful, the Gracious, the Most High. (gwb 315) (106:7) Since we are unable to conceive of a greater degree of love than the Prophet's love of humanity, we naturally attribute it to divinity. Abdul-Baha explains:
