Baha'u'llah endured forty years of vicissitudes, ordeals and hardships for the purpose of spreading His teachings. (pup 372) (113:5) His (Baha'u'llah's) life was a vortex of persecution and difficulty; yet catastrophes, extreme ordeals and vicissitudes did not hinder the accomplishment of His work and mission.
