In the Baha'i writings the terms `Prophet' and `Manifestation' are often equated (e.g. kiq 4,6,12-15 etc). Prophet is frequently used in the Bible and is applied with varying degrees of meaning. In a narrow sense the term `Prophet' can be defined as simply one who speaks prophetically. This appears to be Paul's meaning when he ranks prophets below Apostles (1 cor 12:28). But the term has also traditionally meant much more than simply one who prophesies the future.
