In many passages, the Baha'i Scriptures recall this parable of the fig tree, inasmuch as the appearance of Baha'u'llah's Revelation is likened to a divine springtime. Baha'u'llah proclaims the 'Divine Springtime is come' (Gleanings 27). In one passage He writes: (139:2)

O friends! It behoveth you to refresh and revive your souls through the gracious favours which in this Divine, this soul-stirring Springtime are being showered upon you. The Day Star of His great glory hath shed its radiance upon you, and the clouds of His limitless grace have overshadowed you. How high the reward of him that hath not deprived himself of so great a bounty, nor failed to recognize the beauty of his Best-Beloved in this, His new attire. (Ibid. 94) (139:3)

This divine springtime is experienced in the effect the Revelation of God -Baha'u'llah's appearance and teachings - has on the personal life of the believer, and in the effect this experience has, in turn, on the world around us. 'Abdu'l-Baha explains: (139:4)

If you abide by the precepts and teachings of the Blessed Perfection [Baha'u'llah], the heavenly world and ancient Kingdom will be yours - eternal happiness, love and everlasting life. The divine bounties are flowing. Each one of you has been given the opportunity of becoming a tree yielding abundant fruits. This is the springtime of Baha'u'llah. The verdure and foliage of spiritual growth are appearing in great abundance in the gardens of human hearts. (Promulgation 9, clarification added) (139:5)
