And in a following verse:
In the Height and Depth the Son had two heralds. - The star of light proclaimed Him from above; - John likewise preached Him from beneath: - two heralds, the earthly and the heavenly. (198:1)

Baha'u'llah states that these signs 'have announced the Revelation of each of the Prophets of God'. He then adds, 'as is commonly believed' (Certitude 62). It should be remembered that Baha'u'llah originally wrote The Book of Certitude in the context of Middle-Eastern culture where Islamic commentaries about Abraham and Moses abound and such beliefs are popular. (198:2)

For example, Baha'u'llah states:-- Among the Prophets was Abraham, the Friend of God. Ere He manifested Himself, Nimrod dreamed a dream. Thereupon, he summoned the soothsayers, who informed him of the rise of a star in the heaven. Likewise, there appeared a herald who announced throughout the land the coming of Abraham. (Certitude 62 3) (198:3)

The following can be found in Jewish legend:-- When Abraham was born, a star appeared in the east so bright that all the stars around it paled in the sky. The royal stargazers came running to King Nimrod and said: 'Your Majesty, a son has been born to Terah who will destroy our gods and convert all the inhabitants of the earth to his beliefs. There is but one thing to do, and that is to destroy him before he grows up.' (Joseph Gaer, The Lore of the Old Testament 85) (198:4)
