Daniel and the Meaning of the Abomination of Desolation-- In the Book of Daniel there are many prophecies concerning an 'abomination of desolation' (64:1)

An 'abomination' is something that causes loathing, abhorrence, or disgust - a sacrilege (i.e. a violation or transgression of what is sacred). (64:2)

And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.(Dan. 11:31) (64:3)
