Earth is But One Country by -J. Huddleston- 7 Para

"Consider the flowers of a garden, though differing in kind, colour, form and shape, yet, inasmuch as they are refreshed by the waters of one spring, revived by the breath of one wind, invigorated by the rays of one sun, this diversity increaseth their charm and addeth unto their beauty. How unpleasing if all.. were of the same shape and colour!.. In like manner, when divers shades of thought, temperament and character, are brought together under the power and influence of one central agency, the beauty and glory of human perfection will be revealed.. Naught but the celestial potency of the Word of God, which ruleth and transcendeth the realities of all things, is capable of harmonizing the divergent thoughts, sentiments, ideas, and convictions of the children of men.." ('Abdul-Baha) (60:6)

"Baha'u'llah once compared the coloured people to the black pupil of the eye surrounded by the white. In this black pupil is seen the reflection of that which is before it, and through it the light of spirit shineth forth." ('Abdul-Baha) (61:2)

"You must attach great importance to the Indians, the original inhabitants of America. For these souls may be likened unto the ancient inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula, who, prior to the Revelation of Muhammad, were like savages. When the Muhammadan Light shone forth in their midst, they became so enkindled that they shed illumination upon the world. Likewise, should these Indians be educated and properly guided, there can be no doubt that through the Divine teachings they will become so enlightened that the whole earth will be illumined." ('Abdul-Baha) (61:3)

"...As long as these prejudices prevail, the world of humanity will not have rest. For a period of six thousand years.. the world of humanity has not been free from war, strife, murder and bloodthirstiness.. war was due to either religious.. racial.. political or patriotic prejudice.. As long as these prejudices persist, the struggle for existence must remain dormant, and bloodthirstiness and rapacity continue.." ('Abdul-Baha) (61:5)

..One example of Baha'i action in the field of religious prejudice is the strong defense of Islam in the West where, despite the decline of the Christian churches, there is a strong bias against anything pertaining to Islam.. This is of particular interest because among the Muslim clergy are to be found the most persistent, fierce, and unreasoning persecutors of Baha'is. Another interesting aspect of Baha'i action to eliminate religious prejudice is that many Jews have learned to love the figure of Jesus through Baha'i teachings, a love which they have never acquired from Christians, who have persecuted and vilified the Jewish people for nearly two thousand years. (61:6)

The main method of eliminating prejudice, however, is action, not words. Baha'is believe that the most effective way of removing fears about people you do not know is to go out and mix with them. (62:2)

"Wherefore, O my loving friends! Consort with all peoples, kindreds and religions of the world, with the utmost truthfulness, uprightness, faithfulness, kindliness, goodwill and friendliness; that all the world of being may be filled with the holy ecstasy of the grace of Baha, that ignorance, enmity, hate and rancour may vanish from the world.." ('Abdul-Baha) (62:3)
