Jesus Sinless (22:0)

Yes, Jesus was sinless, even though He seemed to indicate that He wasn't: (22:1)

"Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God" (mrk 10:18) (22:2) see

"This did not mean - God forbid! - that Christ was a sinner; but the intention was to teach submission, humility, meekness and modesty to the man to whom He spoke (saq 170). (22:3) see

"For these Holy Souls are pure from every sin and sanctified from faults" (saq 170:1). (22:4)

Basis for Christian belief: ".. a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens" (heb 7:26) (22:5) see

Bahá'ís uphold the fact that Jesus the Christ was sinless in a very special way. He not only committed no sin, but since He spoke and acted for God, He actually defined what was sin. However, the Bible does identify several other persons who were sinless: (22:6)

1."Noah was a righteous man and.. walked with God."(gen 6:9) (22:7) see

"Job, and that man was blameless and upright.." (job 1:1) (22:8) see

"Zachariah and Elizabeth, parents of John the Baptist "were both righteous before God.. blameless." (luk 1:6) (22:9) see

2. Christ is without sin: (22:10)

3. Jesus broke the Jewish law of the Sabbath, and threw-out the (legal) Money Changers from the Temple (mat 21:12) [these things were against Jewish law, but Christ establishes the law, and did not break God's law. This same reasoning should be applied to Moses (js)] (22:11) see

Jesus, like all Manifestations of God, broke the laws of man, as well as past religious laws, but did so only by the will and permission of God who has the ultimate power to define the law (22:12)

"How often the Prophets of God.. confess Their sins and faults! This is only to teach other men, to encourage and incite them to humility and meekness, and to induce them to confess their sins and faults. For these Holy Soul are pure from every sin and sanctified from faults.." (saq 170). (22:13) see
