Miracles (25:0)

".. Manifestations.. have all power. But for Them, inner sight, spiritual healing and eternal life are the valuable and important things." (saq 102) Our purpose is not to deny such miracles; our only meaning is that they do not constitute decisive proofs, and that they have an inner significance. (saq 38:1). (25:1) see

3.".. false prophets will arise and show great signs so as to deceive.." (mat 24:24) (25:4) see

4. The Pharisees said "It is only Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons." (mat 12:24) (25:5) see

5."But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him.. that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled.." (joh 12:37-38) [Isaiah/Esaias] (25:6) see

6."And (the devil) said to Him, 'If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down'.. and Jesus said to him, "Again it is written, 'you shall not tempt the Lord your God. '" (mat 4:6-7) (25:7) see

7."The Pharisees came.. seeking from Him a sign from heaven to test Him. And He.. said, 'Why does this generation seek a sign" Truly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation. '" (mrk 8:11-12) (25:8) see

8.".. ye shall seek Me, not because ye saw miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.. Jesus said to them 'I am the bread of life. '" (see joh 6:26-35) [Jesus said to believe - not because of miracles, but because His teachings were the spiritual food and life to the world (js)] (25:9) see

9. If physical miracles were the greatest proof for a religion, then the religion with the greatest physical miracle would be the correct one. [js] (25:10)

A. Other religions tell of miracles - how can we know that only the Christian ones are true? Even if miracles are proof for those who are present, they are not proof to those who are absent. (saq 100). (25:11) see

B."(Miracles) are not decisive proofs even for those who see them: they may think that they are merely enchantments." (saq 37). (25:12) see

The real miracle: ".. Christ, solitary and alone, without a helper or protector, without armies and legions, and under the greatest oppression, uplifted the standard of God before all the people of the world.. although outwardly He was crucified. Now this is a veritable miracle which can never be denied. There is no need of any other proof of the truth of Christ.. If a blind man receives sight, for example, he will finally again become sightless, (when he dies), (but) inner sight, hearing, life and healing are eternal.." (see saq 102). (25:13) see

Question. -- It is recorded that miracles were performed by Christ. Are the reports of these miracles really to be accepted literally, or have they another meaning? It has been proved by exact science that the essence of things does not change, and that all beings are under one universal law and organization from which they cannot deviate; and, therefore, that which is contrary to universal law is impossible (25:14)

Answer. -- The Holy Manifestations are the sources of miracles and the originators of wonderful signs. For Them, any difficult and impracticable thing is possible and easy. For through a supernatural power wonders appear from Them; and by this power, which is beyond nature, They influence the world of nature. From all the Manifestations marvelous things have appeared (25:15)
