Does Baha'i fulfill Bible Criteria? (24:0)

I. There are definite criteria given for Christ's Return in John chapters 14-16. A brief sampling of the fulfillment by Baha'u'llah is given below for each criterion: (24:1)

I.a. Testify of Christ and glorify His station (joh 15:16; 16:14)
1. "Say, this is the One Who glorified the Son and exalted His Cause." (tbh 12)
2. "Say, verily, He hath testified of me, and I do testify of Him." (tbh 11) (24:2) see

I.b. Teach and declare the message of Christ and bring all things to the remembrance of the Christians.. (joh 14:26; 16:15)
1. "Say this is the One Who glorified the Son and hath exalted His Cause." (tbh 12)
2. "Our belief in regard to Christ is exactly what is recorded in the New Testament." (On Divine Phil. 117)
3. "The essence of religion is to testify unto that which the Lord hath revealed and follow that which He hath ordained in His mighty Book." (tbh 155) (24:3) see

I.c. Guide the Christians into all truth (joh 16:13)
"..the Comforter whose advent all scriptures have promised is now come that He may reveal unto you all knowledge and wisdom." (wob 104) (24:4) see

I.e. Speak only by the authority of God (joh 16:13)

I.g. Convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment (joh 16:8-11)
1. "So great is the folly and perversity of the people, that hey have turned their faces toward their own thoughts and desires, and have turned their back upon the knowledge and will of God." (kiq 171)
2. "Though immersed in the ocean of misbelief, yet with your lips ye profess the one true faith of God. Him whom I abhor ye have loved, and of My foe ye have made a friend. Not withstanding, ye walk on My earth complacent and self-satisfied, heedless that My earth is weary of you and everything within it shunneth you." (hwd Persian num 20)
3. "Such has been the perversity of men and their transgressions, so grievous hath been the trials that have afflicted the Prophets of God, and their Chosen ones, that all mankind deserveth to be tormented and to perish." (gwb 76) (24:8) see

II. Some Prophecies referring to the 2nd Coming literally fulfilled by Baha'u'llah:
A. Place of His Coming: Carmel and the Plain of Sharon shall see Him. (isa 35:1-2)
B. Where He Comes From: From Assyria and the fortified cities.. (mic 7:11)
C. How He Would Come: As a thief in the night (2pe 3:10) and unexpectedly (mat 24:36)
D. Come With a New Name: (isa 62:2; rev 2:17) and His New Name is "Glory of the Lord (Baha'u'llah in Arabic)" (isa 35:1-2)
E. Time of His Coming: '1844' as derived from Daniel (saq 41-44)
F. Accompanying Events (less specific): Gospel preached throughout the world (mat 24:14) Wars and rumor of wars.. (mrk 13:7-10) terrible troubles (dan 12:1) (24:9) see

III. Bible's test of which Spirits are of God:
A. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God." (1jo 4:1-3)
B. "Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. (1co 12:3) [no one can be a Baha'i without believing that Jesus is Lord] (24:10) see

IV. He is True who Seeks only God's Glory:
"My doctrine is not my own but His Who sent me. If any man's will is to do His will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God or whether I speak on My Own authority. He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of Him who sent Him is true." (joh 7:16-18) (24:11) see

IV.A. "Verily, He Who is the Spirit of Truth is come to guide you unto all truth. He speaketh not as prompted by His Own Self, but as bidden by Him Who is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise." (tbh 12).. IV.B. Baha'u'llah gave up a life of great wealth in the noble class of Persia, and for forty years led a sinless, self-sacrificing life of torture banishment, imprisonment, poisonings, and the abject poverty of His family to bring His Teachings to mankind.
1. Baha'u'llah's will specified: "Earthly treasures We have not bequeathed, nor have We added such cares as they entail." (tbh 219) He had nothing to distribute to His heirs in worldly goods.
2. "We, verily, have come for your sakes, and have borne the misfortunes of the world for your salvation." After Kitab-i-Aqdas by Page 10 (24:13)

"You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.." (mat 7:15-20).. A. "Baha'u'llah.. bore innumerable trials and persecutions in order to show forth to the world of mankind the virtues of the world of divinity, making it possible for you to realize the supremacy of the spirit.." Paris Talks Page 160 (24:16)

B. "The proof of the validity of a Manifestation of God is the penetration and potency of His Word, the cultivation of heavenly attributes in the hearts and lives of His followers and the bestowal of divine education upon the world of humanity. This is absolute proof." (pup 341)
1. "The Word of God brings Faith" (rom 10:17) "Rebirth" (1pe 1:23) and "Everlasting Life" (joh 5:24)
2. There are over six million Baha'is from every religious background who have come to know Christ or to know Him more completely by recognizing His Return.
3. "One thing and only one thing will unfailingly and alone secure the undoubted triumph of this sacred cause, namely the extent to which our own inner life and private character mirror forth in their manifold aspects the splendor of the eternal principles proclaimed by Baha'u'llah."
