..strong confirmation in the New Testament itself that 1844 was the year intended by Christ for the fulfilment of His second promise concerning the "times of the Gentiles.".. came from the Book of Revelation.. (14:1)

"And the Holy City (Jerusalem) shall they tread under foot for forty and two months." (editors note: 30 days per month times 42 months equals 1260 days - or years - the year 1260 on the Muslim calendar is the year 1844 on the calendar of the West) (14:2)

..In the next verse of Revelation this period of time is given in yet another way. It is said that is will last for "1260 days." (14:3)

1.In the study of biblical prophecy, the period of time called a 'day' becomes a 'year' when calculating the passing of time: (14:5)

2.This theory was supported by the following prophecies. (14:6)

A.Numbers xiv.34. "Even forty days, each day for a year." (14:7) see

B.Ezekiel iv.6. "I have appointed thee each day for a year." (14:8) see
