[Jesus References His Return]
1. That He would return as Himself: (58:7)

"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." (John 14:18) (58:8) see

"I go away, and come again unto you." (John 14:28) (58:9) see

"A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me." (John 16:16) (58:10) see

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again..." (John 14:3) (58:11) see

2. That another other than Himself would come: (59:1)

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you." (John 16:7) (59:2) see

"...but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin..." (John 16:7-8) (59:3) see

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now (59:4)

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth." (John 16:12-13) (59:5) see

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me." (John 15:26) (59:6) see

In the following words Christ made it clear that He, as well as the One Who would return in His name would be human channels for the same Holy Spirit. Of Himself Christ said: (59:7)

"...the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me." (John 14:24) (59:8) see

In yet another place, Christ repeats this: (59:9)

"the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself." (John 14:10) (59:10) see

Christ makes the same statement about the One Whom He promises will return after He, Christ, departs: (59:11)

"...he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak." (John 16:13) (59:12) see

"...the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost (speaking through a Prophet - Ed), whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:16) (the Holy Ghost speaking through the One to return -ed) (59:14) see
