Such testimony is one of the most evident features in the accounts of the lives of the Prophets and explains why such emphasis is given in the sacred Books to this theme. The following examples examine how the suffering of the Manifestations reveals specific attributes of God. (106:1) The specific attribute of love is revealed in the sacrifices the Manifestations of God have made for humankind. Christ says: (106:2) "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down ones life for his friends. (john 15:13) (106:3) Christ, the Bab, Baha'u'llah and the other Prophets, however, offered their lives for all humankind, both friends and foe, a sacrifice which represents as great an evidence of love as we can conceive of. John writes: (106:4) "In this love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4:10) (106:5) Similarly, Baha'u'llah writes: (106:6) "Fix your gaze upon Him Who is the Temple of God amongst men. He, in truth, hath offered up His life as a ransom for the redemption of the world. He, verily, is the All-Bountiful, the Gracious, the Most High. (gwb 315) (106:7) Since we are unable to conceive of a greater degree of love than the Prophet's love of humanity, we naturally attribute it to divinity. Abdul-Baha explains:
