The prophecies of Baha'u'llah have in many cases already come true and are mentioned, for example, by Shoghi Effendi in such books as `The Promised Day is Come' and `The World Order of Baha'u'llah'. Concerning prophecy as a criteria, the Old Testament states that if a Prophet's words do not come to pass, he is a false prophet. However, if the words do come to pass he may still be a false prophet. If someone says something will happen and it does happen, how do you know the event occurred `because' they said it would? This means that we cannot judge Baha'u'llah's prophecies on the basis of their fulfillment. Only in the case of unfulfilled prophecy is such a presumption justified. The text reads, "if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; `the prophet' has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him" (deu 18:22, emphasis added) (124:3)
