Both Christ and Baha'u'llah suffered for the same reason, "the remission of sins" (saq 125). The amount or type of ordeal is not the most significant factor. Rather, it is the reason for the suffering and the station or quality of the one who suffered that matters. This is the essential difference between the Prophets' suffering and the suffering experienced by other people. Both Chris and Baha'u'llah suffered, even though they were innocent, to transform the lives of people who are guilty of many sins. Their suffering can be equated because both the suffering of Baha'u'llah and of Christ cause the qualities of divinity to be revealed to us. (132:2)
