Bahá'u'lláh has unsealed this spiritual or inner meaning and made it crystal clear in His Writings. The outward symbol is this: the body of Christ rose from the dead. The inward truth is this: the body of His Faith was dead because of the fear and the scattering of His followers. Through the courage and determination of His disciples it rose from this state of apparent extinction and appeared with its real life, that of the Spirit. It was resurrected. (113:1)

This is the true meaning of resurrection. (113:2)

Bahá'u'lláh says:
The mysteries of resurrection and the events of the Last Hour are openly manifest, but the people are sunk in heedlessness and have suffered themselves to be wrapt in veils.36 (113:3)

In another place, Bahá'u'lláh declares that it was for the purpose of helping mankind to understand this truth that He unsealed, in detail, the meanings from the sacred Books: (113:4)

O brother, behold how the inner mysteries of "rebirth", of "return", and of "resurrection" have each, through these all-sufficing, these unanswerable, and conclusive utterances, been unveiled and unravelled before thine eyes. God grant that through His gracious and invisible assistance, thou mayest divest thy body and soul of the old garment, and array thyself with the new and imperishable attire.37 (113:5)

The explanation of other puzzles, such as the story of Adam and Eve, the story of Creation, the immortality of the soul, free-will, reincarnation, and proofs of the existence of God, have been explained elsewhere. (113:6)

The present book has dealt only with basic Christian subjects. (113:7)

Ninety years ago hardly anyone would teach the Christian Bible in Persia. Bahá'u'lláh asked, "Why?" (113:8)

He was told, "It is not the Word of God." (113:9)
