"Spirit (defined as) Intelligent or immaterial part of man, soul" (Oxford Dict.) (42:9)

"These two names-- the human spirit and the rational soul-- designate one thing." (Bwf 317) (42:10)

Special Note: But in the foregoing, the soul is the entity God creates, the human reality; whereas 'spirit' is the 'power' that activates a being or entity.. (42:11)

"Man-- the true man-- is soul, not body; though physically man belongs to the animal kingdom, yet his soul lifts him above the rest of creation... The soul... makes the human creature a celestial entity." "The soul can live without a body, but the body without a soul dies." (Pt 85; Pt 87) (42:12)
