"When man does not open his mind and heart to the blessing of the Spirit..., man is in a sorry plight!... All his aspirations and desires being strengthened by the lower side of the soul's nature, he becomes more and more brutal, until his whole being is in no way superior to that of the beasts that perish. Men such as this, plan to work evil, to hurt and to destroy." (Pt 97) (69:4)

"Tear asunder, in My Name, the veils that have grievously blinded your vision, and, through the power born of your belief in the unity of God, scatter the idols of vain imitation... Suffer not yourselves to be wrapt in the dense veils of your selfish desires, inasmuch as I have perfected in every one of you My creation, so that the excellence of My handiwork may be fully revealed unto men." (Bwf 118- 9) (69:5)

"The point is this, that... to brings spirits within the bonds of serenity is a most arduous undertaking... It necessitates a divine and holy potency, the potency of inspiration, the power of the Holy Spirit." (Pup 271) (69:6)

"The body of man is in need of physical and mental energy, but his spirit requires the life and fortification of the Holy Spirit." (Bwf 241) (69:7)

"Afflictions and troubles are due to the state of not being content with what God has ordained for you. If one submits himself to God he is happy." (SofW Vol 7 p187) (69:8)
