"It is by the aid of such senses as those of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch, that the mind comprehendeth" ("2nd gear"), "whereas the soul is free from all agencies" ("high gear" seeing) (Bwf 337) (74:5)

"They should in no wise allow their fancy to obscure their judgment, neither should they regard their own imaginings as the voice of the Eternal." (Bwf 134) (74:6)

"For example... he can pass his time in praising God, or he can be occupied with other thoughts... and engrossed with material things... These actions are subject to the control of the will of man himself, consequently he is responsible for them." (Saq 287- 8) (74:7)

"Knowledge is like unto wings for the being, and is as a ladder for ascending" (to the various levels of consciousness). (Bwf 189) (74:8)

"Just as the outer sense of sight is necessary to him, he should also possess insight and conscious perception." (Pup 322) (74:9)

"O Son of Dust! Blind thine eyes... to all save My beauty; stop thine ears to all save My Word; empty thyself of all learning save the knowledge of Me; that with a clear vision, a pure heart and an attentive ear thou mayest enter the court of My holiness." (Hwp 25) (74:10)

"The honor of man is through the attainment of the knowledge of God; his happiness is from the love of God, his joy is in the glad- tidings of God; his greatness is dependent upon his servitude to God." (Pup 329) (74:11)

Now "the fingers of divine power have unlocked the portals of the knowledge of God, and the light of divine knowledge and heavenly grace hath illumined and inspired the essence of all created things, in such wise that in each and every thing a door of knowledge hath been opened, and within every atom traces of the sun hath been made manifest." (Iqan 29- 30) (74:12)
