The body "sees" with Senses and Memory- this makes a low gear animal reaction. The mind "sees" with Reason and Imagination (rational power), human-- 2nd gear. The soul "sees" with Faith and Intuition ("eyes of the heart") in-- high gear. Only what the soul sees in the light of divine Revelation is pure knowledge-- what the rest of us see is only part- truth, imperfect, often totally untrue; and imperfect vision causes imperfect or "bad" feelings and wrong reactions.
