the Holy Bible

--2 Samuel--

The spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word [was] in my tongue. (23:2)

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men [must be] just, ruling in the fear of God. (23:3)

And [he shall be] as the light of the morning, [when] the sun riseth, [even] a morning without clouds; [as] the tender grass [springing] out of the earth by clear shining after rain. (23:4)

Although my house [be] not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all [things], and sure: for [this is] all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he make [it] not to grow. (23:5)

But [the sons] of Belial [shall be] all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands: (23:6)

But the man [that] shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the [same] place. (23:7)

--1 Chronicles--

All [this, said David], the Lord made me understand in writing by [his] hand upon me, [even] all the works of this pattern. (28:19)

--Matthew--

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, (22:41)

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, [The son] of David. (22:42)

He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, (22:43)

The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? (22:44)

If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? (22:45)

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any [man] from that day forth ask him any more [questions]. (22:46)

--Acts of the Apostles--

For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: (2:25)

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: (2:26)

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. (2:27)

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. (2:28)

Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. (2:29)

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; (2:30)

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. (2:31)

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. (2:32)

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (2:33)

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, (2:34)

Until I make thy foes thy footstool. (2:35)

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. (2:36)

Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do? (2:37)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (2:38)

Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? (4:25)
