TREES
the Holy Qur'an

Seest thou not that to God bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind? But a great number are (also) such as are fit for Punishment: and such as God shall disgrace,- None can raise to honour: for God carries out all that He wills. (22:18)

Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. (23:20)

Yea, with it We cause to grow well-planted orchards full of beauty of delight: it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them. (Can there be another) god besides God? Nay, they are a people who swerve from justice. (27:60)

And if all the trees on earth were pens and the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (supply), yet would not the words of God be exhausted (in the writing): for God is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom. (31:27)

"The same Who produces for you fire out of the green tree, when behold! ye kindle therewith (your own fires)! (36:80)

And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) bow in adoration. (55:6)

Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? (56:72)
