--1 Samuel-- And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. (16:21) And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. (16:22) And it came to pass, when the [evil] spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. (16:23) --1 Chronicles-- And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren [to be] the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. (15:16) Moreover four thousand [were] porters; and four thousand praised the Lord with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise [therewith]. (23:5) --2 Chronicles-- And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of the Lord, which David the king had made to praise the Lord, because his mercy [endureth] for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood. (7:6) And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. (29:26) --Nehemiah-- And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.
