A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered (32:1)

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile (32:2)

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long (32:3)

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah (32:4)

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah (32:5)

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him (32:6)

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah (32:7)

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye (32:8)

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee (32:9)

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about (32:10)

Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart (32:11)

A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure (38:1)

For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore (38:2)

There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin (38:3)

For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me (38:4)

My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness (38:5)

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long (38:6)

For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh (38:7)

I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart (38:8)

Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee (38:9)

My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me (38:10)

My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off (38:11)

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long (38:12)

But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth (38:13)

Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs (38:14)

For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God (38:15)

For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me (38:16)

For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me (38:17)

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin (38:18)

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied (38:19)

They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is (38:20)

Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me (38:21)

Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation (38:22)

Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me (40:11)

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me (40:12)

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions (51:1)

Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin (51:2)

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me (51:3)

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest (51:4)

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me (51:5)

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom (51:6)

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow (51:7)

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice (51:8)

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities (51:9)

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me (51:10)

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me (51:11)

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit (51:12)

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee (51:13)

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness (51:14)

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise (51:15)

For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering (51:16)

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise (51:17)

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem (51:18)

Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar (51:19)
