Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand (43:9) And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: (mat 13:11-14) (43:10) see Commentary (43:11) This prophecy refers not to Christ directly, but to "them", the people of Christ's time. It is a reference to their having attained the presence of the Holy One, having heard His words and witnessed His person, yet not having realized the significance of the privilege they were given, or having benefited from it (43:12) Once again, I see no help here for the seeker
